As a volunteer and donor, you have a great opportunity to share this digital profile with your friends and family. They get to view an interesting story of a ministry that you have chosen to give your time and money.
I had a metal lathe that the MW shop no longer needed. It seemed that the best move was to sell the lathe and to recover valuable shop floor space. Adam Norden cleaned, prepped the lathe for sale, photographed it and wrote the copy. I put it online.
Amazingly, I had lots of interest in the lathe. Much of it local -- yet no one made an offer. After about 5 days, I heard from Mike Wyatt. Mike wanted to purchase the lathe and we struck a deal. I had planned to be in Birmingham to attend the memorial service of Rodger Keene a Mobility Worldwide giant. I would meet him near Calera, AL on I-65 between Montgomery and Birmingham.
According to plan, I met Mike at the designated exit. As we loaded the lathe into Mike's truck, I began to tell Mike about Mobility Worldwide and how our volunteers and donors show the love of Christ by building Mobility Carts which are given through our ally, Partners for Care, to empower the leg disabled of Kenya.
Mike listened with interest and then told me about his YouTube channel, Nine Point Five Projects, where he does everything from carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and designing in SolidWorks. Mike is a Master Tinkerer and is always doing something.
That's when I realized that Mike could be interested in producing an episode on the MW Shop in Phenix City.
We both agreed to pursue the opportunity and within a couple of weeks, Mike was in our shop interviewing the volunteers and collecting video.
