I think that you will be moved by this story, It was shared with me by Make the World Mobile's Kenya-based distribution ally, Partners for Care.

This is the story of Nicolas Mungai. He lives in Nairobi's Huruma slum, an area of about 10 acres. Yet, it's home to some 2,700 households!

Huruma's landscape is characterized by compact mud-and-wattle shacks with sheet metal roofs. Access to clean water, sanitation, and waste management is limited.

This is home for Nicolas Mungai and this is his story:

“For years polio forced me to crawl across Huruma slum’s dusty paths – inch by inch – to markets, friends, or just to be in the sun. Stares and pity followed, but I pressed on ‘The human spirit bends but never breaks,’ my late mother said, her words fueling me.”

“Then Partners for Care arrived with my Mobility Cart. I climbed in, pushed forward, and glided free. Tears fell as neighbors cheered my first roll down the street. No more scraped knees, just dignity and hope reborn.”

“Thank you PFC, from my heart, for the Mobility Cart that changed my life. After years of crawling, I now move with joy and ease. Your gift restored my spirit.

God bless you.”

Gratefully,

Nicolas Mungai

Nicolas is so happy to have a Mobility Cart. The gift of mobility has changed his life. Yet, many have no access to a device such as his.

Change can come, but only with help. You can make the world mobile. Be a mobilizer.
