For Catherine Nduku, life was defined by struggle. For 36 years, movement was a painful challenge due to polio. "Each step was challenging, everyday tasks felt overwhelming," she recalls. Her deepest desire was to give her children "better opportunities than I had," but the physical difficulty of her daily life made it seem impossible.

They gave me independence, dignity, and hope. I have built a better life for myself and my children. I will always appreciate it.
They gave me independence, dignity, and hope. I have built a better life for myself and my children. I will always appreciate it.

Everything changed thanks to the generosity of three organizations. The Mobility Worldwide affiliate which manufactured the mobility cart, Partners for Care (PFC) provided her with the essential tools: a mobility cart and a cooler box. This gift instantly granted her the ability to move independently. Following that, the Joy Divine Community Based Organization (CBO) provided the startup funds she needed to launch a small business.

The combination of independence and purpose was transformative. Her mini-store became more than just a source of income; it was a beacon of hope. "Each sale filled me with hope and purpose," Catherine shares.

Today, her small business allows her to provide for her family, paying for her children's education and ensuring they have food and shelter. Looking back on her journey, she powerfully states, "The impossible has become possible. This cart has moved my dreams forward."

Catherine concludes with deep gratitude for the organizations that helped her claim a new life: "They gave me independence, dignity, and hope. I have built a better life for myself and my children. I will always appreciate it."
