Mark and Daina Wooten: “Why We Give Monthly to Mobility Worldwide.”

The Wootens are monthly givers. They find it convenient and meets their desire to make a difference in the lives of the leg disabled.

Mark and Daina Wooten of Salem, Alabama, find immense joy in knowing that their monthly contributions to Mobility Worldwide are transforming lives. Each monthly giving gift helps provide mobility carts to leg-disabled individuals in African villages, lifting them out of poverty and into a world of opportunity.

"We feel a deep sense of fulfillment when we see those carts loaded into a container headed for Africa," says Mark. "It’s a tangible way to make a difference, and that makes us feel great!"

The Wootens first learned about Mobility Worldwide through Sam Singer, the director of the East Alabama/West Georgia affiliate, whom they met at church. Intrigued by the ministry's mission to build mobility carts for disabled individuals in third-world countries, they quickly got involved.

At the time, Mark was employed at a welding company. Leveraging his industry connections, he helped Sam secure the best prices for welding supplies and even arranged donations of welding wire. His involvement deepened as he started volunteering in the shop on Saturdays and attended the Mobility Worldwide National Conference in Michigan.

“Volunteering is incredibly rewarding, but our busy schedules with work, church, children, and other volunteer commitments mean we can't be there as often as we’d like,” Mark explains. “However, our monthly contribution helps ensure that the ministry has the supplies needed to produce the carts.”

According to Sam, each Mobility Cart requires 269 different parts, some of which, like tires, must be ordered at least four months in advance. “To keep production going, we rely on a steady stream of monthly donations to cover these costs,” he says.

The convenience of giving is another reason the Wootens support Mobility Worldwide. “The donation process is straightforward,” says Mark. “We just visit the giving page, select an amount, and provide a method of payment. It’s that easy.”

For the Wootens, being part of Mobility Worldwide is more than just giving; it’s about spreading joy and encouraging others to join the cause.

“It’s important to support organizations that make a real difference,” says Mark. “For us, Mobility Worldwide embodies that mission, and we’re proud to be involved!”
