This week, I have for you a very special story...the story of Rosaline. It recently appeared in Partners for Care summer newsletter. Rosaline's story is lovingly told by my sister in Christ, Mary Wang'ang'a, PFC's Director Mobility Carts and Devices Program.

Rosaline Korir's narrative has profoundly impacted me, not solely due to the challenges she has overcome, but also because of the grace and gratitude with which she has embraced her new life. In my role as the Partners for Care Mobility Carts and Devices Program Director, I have distributed over 10,000 mobility carts; however, Rosaline's transformation is particularly significant in my memory.

Before receiving her mobility cart, Rosaline was required to crawl to navigate her environment, which made even basic activities such as moving around her home or visiting the market extremely difficult. During my visit to her residence in Bomet County, I observed her unwavering determination to care for her two children despite her physical limitations, including preparing their meals. On the day she was presented with her mobility cart, members of her entire village gathered to support her. After experiencing her first ride, she turned to me with a beaming smile and stated, "Now, I can live like everyone else."

What resonated with me most profoundly was her immense gratitude. She articulated sentiments I will eternally remember:

"My knees will no longer hurt, and I have the opportunity to go to the market and church."

Now that Rosaline has a mobility cart, she is very happy!

After receiving her cart, Rosaline assembled the attendees, offering a heartfelt prayer of thanks, expressing appreciation to God and to everyone whose efforts had contributed to her transformation. She continually conveyed blessings upon Partners for Care, saying "I thank you for everything, may God bless you for restoring my dignity and my capacity to care for my family."

Witnessing Rosaline's transformation has reinforced my understanding of the human spirit's resilience and Partners for Care's significant impact. Her joy and gratitude serve as a reminder that these mobility carts represent more than mere equipment; they symbolize a pathway to independence, dignity, and renewed hope. Rosaline's journey inspires me daily to persist in my service, reaffirming the belief that a single act of kindness can indeed transform a life.
